Appearing in the National Press - a brand new article on Small Prints in the Daily Record.

I'm so excited about the fact that me, my family and my Small Prints business have been featured in the Daily Record today. So far, 2015 is turning out to be a seriously great event... I have just been nominated as a "Rising Star" by Terry Hope, Editor of the Photo Professional Magazine, and now I'm in the national press!

Maria Croce, the Daily Record journalist has really captured my passion for photography, and how much I love the gorgeousness of tiny, very new curled up newborns...

“When they’re that young they curl themselves into these beautiful poses. Each one has their own little character and position they like. It feels like you’re getting a glimpse of what they would have been doing inside the womb. We’re picking up the tiniest details such as the swirl of hair on their forehead or tufts of hair on their ears. They’re fascinating – I just love them. I love all stages of children. My 12-year-old is really good company and I love going shopping with my six-year-old girl. A lot of people look back at the baby stage and say they couldn’t go back to that – I adore it."

It's true! There's something so precious and perfect about a baby that is only a week old - they are all different and have their own characters, and I love capturing those differences during a session.

Maria has also written a little about how I managed to set up my photography business, and how I cope with needing to squeeze in the time inbetween my own family and children.

“Once the children are in bed that’s when I start work. My husband works full-time and I run the business and we share the childcare. I feel privileged to do this – it’s my dream job.”

It really IS my dream job - I feel quite strongly about this - how blessed I am, and how amazing it is when you are able to work on something that you adore doing, and are so passionate about. Small Prints Photography is really the culmination of many years of thinking, planning, training and downright hard graft, and I can't wait to see how it's going to grow and expand into 2015 and beyond...
